1:1 Biz Strategy Program is a 12 session program for women with a home based massage business, providing mentoring and biz support tailored to YOUR individual needs.
If you’re anything like me, you decided to train as a massage therapist, not because you wanted to make a heap of money, but because you genuinely wanted to help people… and have flexible hours for other commitments like raising kids, and giving back to your community.
My massage training was one of the best investments I’ve ever made in myself. I learned WAY more than how to give a beautifully relaxing flowing massage.
I learned I could really make a difference in the lives of my clients by helping them become free from pain and rediscover the joy of being active.
But while I was an enthusiastic, growing therapist, I simply didn’t have what I needed to be a business owner.

But while I was an enthusiastic, growing therapist, I simply didn’t have what I needed to be a business owner.

This showed up as:

- treating Massage Therapy, as as a hobby instead of my profession, even though it was my sole source of income
- under-investing in my 'business' professional development because I felt like choosing training that taught me a new technique was the only appropriate 'professional development'
- Kidding myself that if I just stuck at things it would turn around… because I was doing ‘healing’ work
And I stayed this way for years!
Why did I do this?
It was a reflection of how I saw myself. The value I placed on myself, my time and my skills as a professional healer.
And the value was ‘less than’
Even though I loved the glow I felt in my chest every time a client shared with me how much they enjoyed spending time with me and how my treatment made them feel more able to cope with their lives, I put the value on my time as a healer as ‘less than’.
I allowed other people’s voices to overshadow my truth, that my skills and gift of working hands on with other people is a valuable contribution to the world.
It was easy to let this happen.
I worked from home so clearly I wasn’t a ‘real’ health care provider, not a like a GP or a physiotherapist.
I had lots of other commitments, like raising children and managing a household, so obviously I wasn't a 'real' businesswoman.
Lots of these voices were from ‘well meaning’ and loving friends and family.
If they had an appointment with me, but something more ‘important’ came up, like an appointment with a doctor, they would cancel without notice, and I let them without penalty because I also bought into the ‘less than’ story.
I felt ‘less than’.
I was told I was not achieving my potential.
I believed my work as a ‘healer’ wasn’t as important as a ‘real job’.
I listened. I got a ‘real job’ as an educator of high school children. That’s a tough gig, let me tell you right now. Hat's off to any of you who have done or are actively pursuing this career. I'm not!
Because when I realised I’d reached the point of either getting myself together as a Massage Therapy business owner with a specialty in Bowen Therapy or sticking with my new ‘real job’… the way forward became clear…

My 20 - some year bodywork practice means I truly believe one to one manual therapy adds something positive to the world’s wellness, and want to share this as widely as I can
… and that means helping grow your businesses.
